ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines/24 April 2012 by Frencie Carreon–A 3-day forum among representatives of civil society organizations and journalists covering Mindanao conflicts is set on the 27th to the 29th of April this year.
The round table discussion aims to allow involved sectors to “exchange ideas and share experiences in working and reporting on conflict.”
Highlights include presentation of updates on the GPH-MILF Peace Talks, an open forum on the challenges in reporting about Mindanao, a talk on the role of civil society organizations in conflict, and that of media, and a plenary on the consolidation of recommendations.
The forum is jointly organized by Forum Civil Peace Service (forumZFD), a German non-government and non-profit organization that promotes peaceful coexistence in civil society, as well as by PECOJON, an international network of print, radio and broadcast journalists, filmmakers and journalism teachers who focus on iplementing and mainstreaming responsible and high quality reporting of confict, crisis, and war.
