COTABATO CITY/10 July 2012— The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has just concluded its 3-day Bangsamoro Leaders’Assembly in Camp Darapanan, where the Bangsamoro leaders agreed to be firm in its stand for an autonomous sub-state akin to a federal government, but the likelihood of the return of a past warfare commander has been speculated.

The possibility of the return of former Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters commander Ameril Umra Kato into the ranks of the MILF comes strong, although no word has yet been formally sent to any member of the press.

MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim said that this is likely in the event that a viable peace agreement with the Philippine government will be reached.

Ebrahim said Kato has expressed disgust over the snail-paced peace process, and should there be progress, he and his men in the BIFF will eventually rejoin the MILF. (TPSA)
