ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines/14 July 2010 by Claudine Uniana—In keeping with their mandate to link Zamboangueños with employment opportunities, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under City Social Welfare and Development Officer Francisco Barredo is facilitating recruitment activities for possible employment from July 12-16.

Barredo said representatives from two Manila-based overseas employment agencies are in the city to interview qualified applicants for overseas employment.  Both are licensed with the Philippine Overseas Employment Authority (POEA).

Ovation Arts and Management Skills Resources Inc. will interview Zamboangueños interested in working as household helps in Malaysia today until Friday.

Meanwhile, the SML Human Resources Inc. on July 12-13 interviewed skilled electrical, mechanical, sanitary, civil and architectural engineers, office clerks, private nurses, cooks and domestic helpers for employment in Qatar, Dubai, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

Barredo said interested applicants must bring their resume and other pertinent documents during interview.

Interviews are conducted from 8:00 to 5:00 on said dates at the PESO premise, City Social Welfare and Development Office in Petitt Barracks.

For details, interested individuals may inquire from the Public Employment Service Office or call 9910719/9913469.

Last year, the PESO facilitated the employment of thousands of Zamboanguenos who are now gainfully employed either locally or abroad. (Claudine Uniana)
