Enhancing English language skills

Students at Sultan Kudarat State University sharpen their English language skills with the aid of computer-assisted learning resources provided under the Job Enabling and English Proficiency (JEEP) project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project is helping to equip college students in Mindanao with specific English language skills needed for jobs in key sectors such as travel and tourism, nursing and allied health care, maritime services, and other areas of international business. Due to their improved oral and written English language skills, JEEP graduates have been able to obtain gainful employment in their chosen fields. To date, 26 colleges and universities across Mindanao have participated in this project being implemented by USAID through its Growth with Equity in Mindanao Program, which is under the oversight of the Mindanao Development Authority.  PHOTO COURTESY OF USAID PHILIPPINES
